Guidance Program: The St. John Paul II High School guidance department supports the mission of the school by providing high-quality, comprehensive school counseling support to all students. The programs are designed to enhance the development of each student’s academic, career, social and personal competencies through collaboration with students, faculty, parents and the community.
Leadership Studies and Practicum: This innovative program introduces leadership theory and develops leadership skills necessary for current and future leaders in society. The course is open to seniors who seek to develop and enhance leadership skills.
Arts:
• Visual - There are many visual arts courses to choose from including: Foundations in Visual Arts, Painting and Design I & II, Digital Media I & II, 3D Design, Advanced Drawing, and Portfolio Development.
• Performing - The Performing Arts Department at St. John Paul II High School provides the highest-quality instruction possible in the areas of drama, music, musical theater and technical theater. Course offerings include but not limited to: Muscial Theater Workshop, Technical Theater Class, Fall Play, Winter Play Workshop, Spring Musical, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, Girls Chamber Choir, Mixed Chamber Choir, Solo Class and Solot Night, etc.
AP Capstone: St. John Paul II High School is one of approximately 1,000 schools worldwide selected to implement AP Capstone —an innovative diploma program that allows students to develop the skills that matter most for college success: research, collaboration, and communication.
The program consists of two courses taken in sequence: AP Seminar and AP Research. Developed in direct response to feedback from higher education faculty and college admission officers, AP Capstone complements the in-depth, subject-specific study of other Advanced Placement courses and exams.
